Replacing the steam knob on a sunbeam em6910 cafe series

These old sunbeams are pretty good little machines, I know many people who have one and love it. They are a dual boiler and make a pretty decent coffee but their downfall is the plastic steam knobs. They tend to perish and crack and often need replacing.
If it's just the knob itself, it's a pretty straight forward fix but in this case, it was the microswitch that failed and things got a little more complicated.. watch the video below:
